The Timeline of Michigan Archaeology
The Timeline of Michigan Archaeology is a digital, interactive timeline presenting archaeological sites of great significance to Michigan history. These sites span a time from almost 14,000 years ago to roughly 1930. Each site is a clickable event on the timeline, with more information presented on what was found at the site, and why it is important to our understanding of Michigan history.
The timeline is meant to present the breadth of Michigan history to a general audience, while demonstrating how archaeology has provided this significant information about the past. It is also meant to make archaeology more accessible to anyone; the sites chosen reflect some of the most important archaeological work in the state and have helped craft our understanding of Michigan history.
