American Tastes, Russian Eats

American Tastes, Russian Eats explores the history and geography of U.S. fast food in post-socialit Russia. The project focuses primarily on three chains: Starbucks, Domino’s Pizza, and KFC.  Using post qualitative and quantitative, the project provides a variety of interactive visualizations to illustrate the legacies of Russia’s transformation into a capitalist economy and offer insights into contemporary Russia’s socioeconomic history in the age of post-Cold War globalization.
